Galway have been All-Ireland Camogie champions for another time, following a 3-14 to 0-17 triumph over Kilkenny.
The game was played before a crowd at the Jones’ Road place as 24,730 attended the showpiece match.
The title had not been won by the Westerners since 2013, and few can question their victory as soon as they backed their National League title with the campaign where they conquer both Cork and Kilkenny.
The Tribeswomen scored three objects which proved crucial, as they were helped by a brace from a Niamh Hanniffy effort plus Ailish O’Reilly to 0-10 lead at the break into a 3-7. On the other hand, the ants worked their way back and hauled it back into three points approaching accident time.
However, an overdue run of Galway points steered them since winners ran out.
