Crystal Ocean suffered a career-ending accident on Thursday.
The Sir Michael Stoute-trained five-year-old was participate in a regular canter because his prep for the Champion Stakes at Ascot or the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe continuing.
While it’s expected the Sea The Stars entire will recuperate to enjoy another career his racing days are finished.
Peter Stanley, spokesman for owner Sir Evelyn de Rothschild, advised the PA news agency:”He has had to have two screws inserted right into a cannon bone.
“He is fine after surgery, he’s come through the operation and will be up and about.
“In this stage the vet finds no problem whatsoever in him heading into burst, but it is early days.
“Obviously it didn’t happen long ago, however, the hope is that he makes a complete recovery.”
