After heading the group’s best result since their full return at high performance Monza, daniel Ricciardo reserved special praise.
Ricciardo claimed his greatest finish since joining the team whilst Nico Hulkenberg matched his best ending for Renault after a Italian GP weekend where their automobile consistently ran at the top with fifth.
The result represented the greatest two-car end for a functions Renault squad as the 2008 Japanese GP, when Fernando Alonso won Nelson Piquet Jr along with the race completed fourth.
Prior to joining the Enstone team at the onset of the calendar year, ricciardo, who ran Renault electricity, stated the success was particularly deserved by the manufacturer’s often-criticised engine operation.
«Obviously I’m happy for the whole team, but I need to provide a special shout out to the boys in Viry building the engines,» said Ricciardo to Sky Sports F1’s Karun Chandhok.
«To get the best team result, here at Monza on an energy circuit, because 2008 is a real statement. They copped a lot of grief throughout the past couple of years and they’ve made some gains this season. This one is for them.»
The big haul from Monza may serve to kickstart what up to then had been an season. Renault have proceeded forward of Toro Rosso into fifth place in the Constructors’ Championship and closed to within 18 points of McLaren at fourth.
«Because Canada we had not got the utmost result out of this,» said Ricciardo, who ended a three-race run with no points.
«I actually believe we were a fourth-placed vehicle now. Seb (Vettel) gave us a tiny help, but once we were in fourth I feel we had that pace.»
Asked when they can now maintain such a level of performance, Ricciardo replied:»I actually wish we can and hope we could.
«We’re coming up to various circuits – high-downforce Singapore, street circuit, bumpy – but despite the fact that this can be Monza and it’s exceptional and you take all the wing off, I certainly think there’s something we could nevertheless learn from this.»
Team manager Cyril Abiteboul explained the weekend as»a protest after Montreal and Spa the obvious progress of the team and specifically on the energy unit side that has been so openly criticised previously».
«It’s a demonstration that everything is liquid with a competitive package,» added the Frenchman. «It is also an invitation to replicate these kinds of feelings, if our season has been far from a smooth ride up to now. Our drivers have shown what they could do with a competitive vehicle.»
