Hotel
DANUBIO
Hugo, a failed writer in the 1950s (he is told repeatedly that his stories aren’t interesting due to lack of credibility), maintains relationships with Ivon, a beautiful young chorus girl, obsessed with quitting work, marry and live without economic burdens.
Hugo has a son, Carlos, almost of the age of Ivón, who, in addition to snatching from his father a large inheritance, ends up by falling in love with the beautiful chorus girl.
However, a mystery looms over the young, rich and attractive son of Hugo, a mystery that we will only know at the end, when Carlos forces his father to take a tragic and desperate solution, which, paradoxically, no one can blame him.

Notes by
The Director
I think the story of “Hotel Danubio”, devised by Carlos Blanco, is original, unusual and very suggestive. Already in the 50s, it was the starting point of an excellent film by Nieves Conde, and interested important filmmakers like Siodmak and Clouzot.
Between what it is and what it seems to be; the lie, the truth, its appearance and the probable; and the staging that recreates another stage, this strange story takes place, within its complexity and without renouncing its intense emotion, we have tried, with the invaluable collaboration of an excellent team with even greater talent than senority, expose with clarity and the most diaphanous simplicity.
