La hora de los
VALIENTES
The evacuation of the paintings of the Prado Museum began in November 1936, in the midst of the Spanish Civil War. One of the Museum guards, Manuel, a young man of 28 years of age finds a self-portrait of Goya abandoned in the gallery.
Faced with the threat of bombs, that are already beginning to fall, Manuel escapes from the Museum with the self-portrait under his clothes, with the intention of protecting it against possible damages.
From that moment, the story narrates Manuel’s personal struggle, helped by a young woman, Carmen and the grandfather Melquiades, to keep the work of Francisco de Goya intact in all its beauty, before the world of horror, blood and violence which constitutes a war.
