Notes by
The Director
The most difficult thing for me was to decide from what point of view I was going to tell the story of “the thirteen roses”, which from the very beginning was very abundant. What was known of the characters, wasn’t much, making them very attractive. On the other hand, they were very normal girls.
Their lives were not especially adventurous; most of them worked in the social services of the Republic. We didn’t have material to build a very imaginative story, but on the other hand, it wasn’t necessary, since the novel part of the story is unfortunately its final tragedy. But I was concerned of not being able to determine the right view from which to tell this story.
