Liverpool’s specialist throw-in coach Thomas Gronnemark states Jurgen Klopp’s innovative approach to management is really build»something special» in Anfield.
Klopp made headlines last season when he and his coaching team included Gronnemark together midway.
The Dane, who holds the world record for the longest throw-in in 51.33m, had a direct effect on the technique of the club full-backs – most especially Joe Gomez.
Liverpool went on to claim their sixth European Cup after that season and Gronnemark is not surprised to observe the Reds flourishing under Klopp.
«Jurgen is an innovator,» Gronnemark told The Athletic. «He’s a leader who claims he does not know everything and is ready to follow folks whenever they have knowledge to choose the team forward.
«If you have a leader who wants complete control and believes that he knows best about everything then that will impact your workers.
«Although you are one of the greatest clubs on the planet, it doesn’t mean you’ve got to do the same thing as you did yesterday. You really feel as though you’re speaking with a buddy when you meet with Jurgen. He listens a lot.
«To allow a man into the club that had been pretty much unknown in England and convey ‘we want all of your knowledge to put it into the coaching programme’, that reveals a great deal of trust and excellent leadership.
«He’s very good at getting the most out of people. It’s far more egotistical in clubs. There’s a pride among the staff and the gamers. They all feel part of something unique.
«Sometimes I’ll stop and consider the players in front of me and think,’Oh, that is insane’. I’m working in a colossal club who won the Champions League.
«Originally , I had a contract to the first half of last season then it had been extended for the second half and I have one for the complete season.
«I really don’t think many folks are laughing now. I think most folks in soccer seem at it and say’Alright, there must be something inside’.»
