Phil Taylor has called to be contained in this season’s Grand Slam of Darts in Wolverhampton.
Bennett stormed with becoming the youngest world champion in January, defeating the Nathan Girvan 3-0 at the Lakeside of Scotland to acquire the BDO World Youth Championship.
The schoolboy nicknamed’Boom Boom’ has enjoyed success on the BDO Tour and has also scooped six of those 10 events.
PDC chairman Barry Hearn has urged Bennett to be included by that the BDO among their eight representatives for the cross-code occasion of November and speculation is mounting the 13-year-old is being considered for selection.
The star has climbed to 17th above the likes of Scott Waites and Martin Adams, and Taylor believes Bennett addition would create huge interest.
“I’m not a large dart-watcher,” Taylor told Sky Sports.
“Somebody just asked me a question of youthful Leighton Bennett and should have a wildcard into Wolverhampton?
“My response was that I really don’t watch the darts on TV but if Leighton Bennett gets a wildcard I’ll see it because he’s exciting. He is a nightmare to perform.”
Taylor retired from competitive action following the 2018 World Championship, but the 16-time world champion has confronted Bennett double on the exhibition circuit in recent months and he’s experienced mixed fortunes.
‘The’ Power’ defeated the child 10-7 in March in the Tower of London, though Bennett acquired his revenge, beating back the in the SAP Darts Slam in Frankfurt in June.
“I’ve played him a few times and he’s a complete nightmare, because he’s a young lad and he’s good,” Taylor added.
“He’s got no fear in him at all. I really enjoy that in him”

It is not very long to wait till darts is back on Sky Sports, the World Grand Prix gets underway on Sunday, October 6 at Dublin’s Citywest Arena October 12 and seven times of policy continues until the closing on Saturday.
